WiFi4EU

The WiFi4EU initiative is a European Commission program that promotes the provision of free Internet access for residents and visitors to the main centers of life of local communities. To this end, financial support will be provided by the European Union, through the CEF (Connecting Europe Facility) program, for a total amount of 15,000 euros per municipality.

From the date the support is granted to a municipality, it will have 18 months to implement the solution.

The free Internet service offered to users must foresee a minimum period of operation of 3 years. As such, it will have to consider the costs of maintaining and financing the connection during this period.

The technical requirements for implementing a WiFi4EU network are as follows:

  • Compliance with the 802.11ac Wave I protocol;
  • Authentication with the 802.1X protocol;
  • Capacity for 50 users, without compromising the quality of experience;
  • MIMO with at least 2×2 channels;
  • Compliance with the Hotspot 2.0 protocol.

Advanced Resources is a company registered as a WiFi4EU network installer. In partnership with Cambium Networks, it presents itself as an experienced partner for the implementation of WiFi4EU projects.
