Digital Radios Features page
Motorola's MOTOTRBO range of digital radios has enhanced the features that have been developed over the years for analog systems, and leverages a range of new applications. Among the features of the digital radios are the following:
- Individual, group or general calls: Each radio has a unique identifier in the network, facilitating the recognition of each terminal and the creation of groups.
- Alert Calls: Notification by sound or vibration;
- Emergency Calls: Places the radio in emission for a period of time, independently from the PTT, and notifies the base and the other terminals of its identification;
- Deactivation of a terminal: Allows the deactivation of a terminal with abnormal operation;
- Remote Verification: Verification of the operating status of a terminal;
- Dead Man: Using an accelerometer, makes an emergency call based on the position of the equipment. Useful for operations in high risk areas, to identify loss of direction situations;
- Channel Search: Search (scan) for active channel, from a list of channels.
The presented functionalities were implementable in analog radios, in a rudimentary way.
The insertion of data with digitized audio made the implementation of these functionalities easier and opened a world of new applications. The TRBOnet system encompasses a large number of functionalities, discussed in the Radio Dispatch Solutions.
